Make your own digital Washi or Sticky tape – Tutorial

If the freebie Washi tape images in my previous post did not fulfill your needs (perhaps you want different patterns on your tape), this tutorial will show you a very easy way to create your own. The actual Washi tape goes through a long, paper making process, which obviously we are avoiding by doing a digital version. The tutorial can be following using Gimp, Photoshop, Photoshop Elements. Although the screenshots are taken using Photoshop.

The first thing to do is to create your basic shape.

Next, we are going to create a jagged edge.

You can go for a zig-zag shape or a more torn effect.

Finally, we can add a pattern to the tape using your existing pattern library.
